Jennifer Has Arrived!

Hello Everyone,

We have our little Jennifer Ann home and she is the sweetest little thing. She sleeps most of the day away, and loves to be held. She slept in her bassinet the first night, but then has co-slept in the bed with us every night but last night. I think perhaps her not wanting to sleep in the bassinet has to do with her being cold. Tyler will hold her before bed and he is a hot water bottle, so when she is put into the bassinet she no longer has her personal heater snuggled against her, and she gets cold. So we will be experimenting the next couple of nights to see if my hypothesis is correct.

She is a good little sleeper and I have to wake her up for feedings. The doctors told me I shouldn't let her go longer then 3 hrs without a feeding. This has been frustrating to say the least. My little Bugga boo is more interested in sleep then feeding, so we struggle for an hour for maybe 10-15 min of feeding, if any. So I have decided to go against the doctors and stretch the time out. I am going every 4 hrs-5 hrs and then waking her up for feedings, or as she acts hungry. Feedings have since gone much better, and I'm not frustrated anymore.

Jennifer was born at 7:22 pm on Wednesday, May 25th. She came into this world 8lbs 2.4ozs, 20 inches long, 13 inch head, and 13.5 inch chest. She has a head full of hair, and long piano player fingers. Personally I think she looks a lot like me, but she has Tyler's dimples and Tyler's expressions, especially when you try to wake her up.

Josh has been excited about Jennifer and was able to come to the hospital and see her. He even held her, and she was super good for him. She just laid there and smiled up.

This past Wednesday I picked Josh up from daycare and he greeted us and gave Jen a kiss. We then went to Ice World were Dad & Josh went ice skating, and as he left to show dad a game he came past Jen and said I love you and blew her a kiss. I think it's the sweetest thing, and he's going to be a great big brother.

Jan and Steve have been great. We appreciate all that they have done and helped us with. Jan went with me and my little snuggle bug to a baby and me group, a breastfeeding support group, Josh's puppet show, and Jennifer's first doctors appointment on Tuesday. It was a good time and it was nice having the helping hand and company as I ran around.

Bailey and Rose love her and follow her into whichever room she is in. They also take every opportunity to use her as their personal loli-pop.

We'll I need to try and get some more laundry done so I'll take off for now, but hopefully will be able to post more on here soon.
