Update

During last week Tyler and I were able to purchase crown moulding, base board, and the chair rail. 95% of it has been installed into Jennifer's room. Tyler has to finish the closet and the mouldings for the doors, before we can install the last of the base board and chair rail. I believe he has the door moulding all made, but it needs to be primed before install. After all of the moulding is installed we will borrow a paint gun from a co-worker of Tyler's and paint it cream.

On Saturday a friend of mine threw the baby shower for me. It was a wonderful party and I had a great time. I appreciate everyone who was able to come or be their in spirit. I got enough diapers to get me through a couple of weeks, and a lot of the items that will make life easier or were needed for the baby. I did get a handful of clothes, but not near as many as I expected: which is fine since our neighbor was kind enough to bring over a bunch that his granddaughters had outgrown.

At the baby shower there were a few games played, guests guessed at how big my Tummy was with two of them coming within a hair of each other. We also played a guess the # of jellybeans in the bottle game, and a competition to who could drink 2 ozs of milk from a baby bottle the quickest. (The baby bottles were taking so long to drink out of, so it was decided that the first person to 1 oz would be the winner). A suggestion for someone who wants to try the drinking from the baby bottle game is to use a juice nipple or to cut or poke holes into the nipple on the bottle.

In addition to the games, hospitality, friends, family, fun, and gifts we had cheesecake (yum my favorite) with strawberry, cherry, or blackberry toppings, an edible fruit basket, chicken salad sandwiches, and raspberry punch. I can't wait to see the pictures from the baby shower. Marilyn's camera was acting up, I forgot to bring mine, so we ended up using Jan & Steve's camera.

In the expectation of delivering early I decided it would be best to get thank yous written out, so I sat down last night and wrote them all out. Now I just have to get to the post office and then mail them out, hopefully tomorrow or Thursday.

I am now 37 weeks 2 days and considered full term. If I go into labor now then the doctors will just let me deliver instead of trying to stop it. The visit to the doctors office this afternoon went well, aside from to my disappointment, there was no change from last week. Everything looks good though.

Last night and today I was having "practice" contractions (according to the Doctor). The contractions were 4-5 min apart and lasting about 30-45 seconds long. I got up and walked around to see if they would stop, which they didn't. I was exhausted and hoping they would, so I went and laid down. When I laid down they did stop. Then today during classes I was having contractions about 2-3 min apart and lasting about 30-45 seconds long, but by the time I got to the Doctor's appointment I had fewer until they stopped. Now this evening I am having more practice, but boy I can't wait until the real ones start. I'm ready to have this kiddo.

Over the last couple of days my back has become sore, I move slower, am exhausted at the end of the day. All normal pregnancy symptoms, but I'm ready to meet our little Jennifer.

Baby News

Hello All,

So I am now 35 weeks and 2 days, and am going to prenatal appointments once a week. At today's appointment, after checking me over, the Dr. said to expect to deliver earlier then my due date (May 22nd). She said that she wouldn't be surprised to see me deliver in 2-3 weeks, but I'm hoping Jennifer waits until after my last final on May 12th.

At last week's appointment Jennifer was in the head-down, posterior position, so the Dr. gave me some stretches to do to encourage her to move into the preferred anterior position. At today's appointment she was still in the head-down position but had rotated 90 degrees, she has also engaged.

In other baby news we have Jennifer's room painted and carpet picked out. We are waiting on our buddy to get back to us on if the carpet we like is available for purchase. Tyler has the window moldings made, but it has yet to be installed and paint put on it. We still have to finish the closet, door molding, and purchase the baseboard, chair rail, & crown molding. After the molding is made/purchased we need to install & paint. I've got my fingers crossed that we get the room done before Jennifer makes her appearance.

Other than that there isn't much more in baby news.

Diaper Cake I made

So there are a bunch of ladies who are having babies, and I have a baby shower coming up soon that I decided to make a diaper cake for. Anyhow this is the finished product. I'm quite proud of myself.

Pregnancy Update

Hello all,

Look, I'm on and it hasn't even been a year yet. Aren't you proud! I figured that I should post some pictures and tell you how things are coming along. First off Tyler and I have decided on a name for our little girl. She will be Jennifer Ann Clements. Tyler is currently in China, but will be back on the 17th. I have been busy with work, going to BSU full-time, homework, and prenatal yoga.

Everything looks great with the pregnancy. I am now going to the doctors every two weeks and at the last appointment I got my results back from the glucose screen. My numbers were excellent on this screen, as was my iron count. Jennifer and my weight and growth are also perfect, so yeah for us.

On Sunday, March 13, 2011 we will be 30 weeks along, which comes down to 10 weeks or 70 days left, but hey who's counting right? In the past couple of months my girth has increased dramatically. The most current belly shot I have is from 28 weeks, so its a couple of weeks old. I also have a couple of ultrasounds of the baby, but shouldn't be getting anymore unless a problem arises.

Jennifer kicks, rolls, wiggles, and squirms. She seems to be a good sleeper at night though, or maybe I'm just so exhausted I don't notice her moving much at night. She's a night owl, waking up right around 9-11pm, being most active at 10pm. Hmmm, maybe there's a connection there with the morning sickness that was felt in the 1st trimester.

When I go to bed she settles down in about 15 minutes then I only really notice her moving if I reposition myself, but she settles back to sleep in about 5 minutes usually. When the lights come on in the morning she usually gives me a good kick or punch, then rolls, as if to say "Hey mom, I'm sleeping here, go back to bed."

I feel her throughout the day, but she'll have a day of being really active then the next she'll be less so. The last couple of weeks have also brought about me feeling Braxton-hicks contractions. They aren't painful, but they are sure stronger then I imagined they would be, and they make my back ache. Everything on the pregnancy end is going smoothly.

The second trimester was wonderful. The third has brought on sore feet, sore back, and swollen ankles. If I stay in one position for too long I start getting achy and have to reposition. But I'm not complaining, I've known pregnant women who have had it far worse, so I am happy with just this little bit of discomfort.

When our roommate, Jeremy, moved out last year Josh decided that he wanted to move into the bedroom downstairs. So Josh's old room will now be Jennifer's. A couple of weekends ago Josh was helping Tyler with Jennifer's room and told him that we should go out and buy paint. When asked what color paint he thought we should buy, Josh replied "Pink." Tyler asked him why pink. Josh said "Well because everyone knows that a girl's room is supposed to be pink." Just FYI, we are planning on painting her room cream and dark brown, with pink accents. :) It's not pink paint, but Josh will still get his pink for his little sister's room.

Jennifer's room has always been the hottest in the summer and coolest in the winter, so we (mostly Tyler) are installing two new windows, took out the closet window, and putting in new insulation. This meant tearing out all the old lath and plaster and ball and tube wiring. We now have new insulation in between all of the studs, instead of every other one, and wiring that is to code, as well as five plugs instead of one.

We have drywall up and the big new window installed. Most of the seams have been mudded and most of the walls are ready for texture and paint. We still have to install the smaller window and install the flooring in the hall closet, so Tyler can put the sheetrock up on those two areas. After all the sheetrock is up and the remaining seems have been mudded, sanded, then mudded and sanded again then we can texture and paint. Then the carpet and decorations will go up. And the furniture will be put in.
